November Liturgical Calendar – Month of the Holy Souls

In this post I will be sharing my November liturgical calendar.

Can you believe it? Our liturgical year is coming to a close.

The month of November may be a bit dreary when it comes to the weather, but liturgically it almost couldn’t be more exciting.

We start off with All Hallowtide, a cool 3-day celebration where we honour the dead.

After that we have a bunch of super cool feast days, such as Martin of Porres and Elizabeth, relative of Mary.

In the middle of the month we have St Martin of Tours, a feast day known for a long time as Martinmas.

The final Sunday before Advent begins we have the feast of Christ the King.

And on November 30th, we celebrate St Andrew and begin the traditional St Andrew Christmas Novena.

Saint Gertrude Prayer

The Prayer of St. Gertrude

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.

Amen.
