In this post I will be sharing a baptism colouring page I made up for kids to have something to do at the baptism reception of our most recent son!

Pretty sure I can say it now with authority after the baptism reception we had for our most recent baby: it is definitely a good idea to have a quiet activity available for the kids.
This is the wildest story.
The short version of the story is that one of my sons accidentally got bounced off the outside of the trampoline (he was outside the net) resulting in a head wound that was just big enough to require some glue. Upon taking him in, his heart rate was 40 BPM (but blood pressure perfect), which then wound up in a cascade of events including a helicopter ride to the experts at the children’s hospital and emerging a week later with a permanent pacemaker! Apparently he’s been in complete heart block for at least a couple of years without showing any symptoms and it was just due to this accident that it was caught. We are now saying his guardian angel pushed him off the trampoline. Thanks be to God!
So, grab your colouring pages and don’t let kids go on the outside of trampolines at baptism parties (why was he doing that we still don’t know).
But if you’re actually just here for the printable, and not all the hospital drama of my personal life, here’s what it looks like:

Very Old Baptism Quotes:
Here are some amazing quotes from the very early Church that discuss baptism. If you have any people in your life who are wondering about Catholic baptism or infant baptism, these quotations may be really edifying for them!
The first is from Justin Martyr:
St. Justin Martyr (c. 100-c. 165), “Then they are brought by us where there is water, and are regenerated in the same manner in which we were ourselves regenerated [reborn]: in the name of God the Father . . . and of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, they then receive the washing of water. For Christ said, ‘Except you be born again, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven’ . . . The reason for doing this, we have learned from the Apostles” (The First Apology 1, 61)
And here is one from the well-known St Augustine himself (many non-Catholics know him!)
St. Augustine (AD 354-430) “Who is so wicked as to want to exclude infants from the kingdom of heaven by prohibiting their being baptized and born again in Christ?” (Pecc. merit. 3, 6, 12) (Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, ed. Philip Schaff [Grand Rapids, MI: Eerdmans Publ., 1971], 5:244). “This [infant baptism] the Church always had, always held; this she received from the faith of our ancestors; this she perseveringly guards even to the end” (Sermon 11, De Verb Apost) (Catholic Encyclopedia, ed. Charles Herbermann, et al, [New York: Robert Appleton, 1907], 2:270).
I hope those quotations are interesting to you.
